Drywall sheet sizes: what to pick
Most DIY projects use 4 ft x 8 ft sheets, but 4 ft x 10 ft or 4 ft x 12 ft can reduce seams on taller walls. Some areas also carry 54-inch wide drywall for 9 ft ceilings (often sold through pro supply).

How much waste should I use?
For simple rectangular rooms, a small waste % is usually fine. For lots of corners, soffits, or many openings, use a higher waste % to avoid a second material run.
Does this include windows and doors?
This estimate is designed for fast planning. If you want a tighter number, increase accuracy by measuring and subtracting large openings, or adjust waste % downward.
Can I use this for ceilings?
Yep — include the ceiling option in the calculator to add length x width to the total surface area.
